Co za mecz! Fogo Unia Leszno pokonała Orlen Oil Motor Lublin 46:44 w niedzielnym meczu na stadionie im. Alfreda Smoczyka. Gospodarze odrobili sześciopunktową stratę w końcówce spotkania.

Mecz rozpoczął się od wygranej Fogo Unii. Ben Cook zapewnił zwycięstwo 4:2 dzięki minięciu na ostatnim okrążeniu Martina Vaculika. W remisowym biegu juniorskim zwyciężył Nazar Parnitskyi. W trzecim wyścigu Fredrik Lindgren zahaczył na prostej o bandę i zaliczył nieprzyjemny upadek, po którym stracił przytomność. Szweda przetransportowano do szpitala na badania.

Byki objęły prowadzenie 13:11 po pierwszej serii. Po przerwie Cook ponownie wyprzedził na dystansie Vaculika, a Rew Cierniaka. Tym samym przewaga Unii wzrosła do czterech punktów. W szóstej gonitwie upadł Piotr Pawlicki. Sędzia wykluczył lidera biało-niebieskich, a w powtórce para gości pokonała Kacpra Manię w stosunku 4:2.

Goście w drugiej części spotkania przeszli jednak do ofensywy. Dziewiąty bieg niespodziewanie zakończył się wygraną 5:1 Kacpra Woryny i Bartosza Jaworskiego. Kilka chwil później Zmarzlik w parze z Bańborem wyprowadzili Motor na prowadzenie. Wyścig nr 11 przyniósł podwójne zwycięstwo Woryny i Cierniaka nad Zengotą oraz Rew, przez co przewaga gości wzrosła do sześciu punktów.

Sztab szkoleniowy Unii zastosował rezerwę taktyczną. Parnitskyi zastąpił Manię w biegu dwunastym i w parze z Benem Cookiem pokonali juniorów z Lublina. W trzynastym wyścigu stadion eksplodował. Pawlicki i Parnitskyi przywieźli podwójne zwycięstwo, wyprowadzając Unię na prowadzenie 40:38. 

Przedostatni bieg wygrał Parnitskyi, a jeden punkt dowiózł Zengota. Tym samym Unii wystarczyły dwa punkty, aby wygrać to starcie. W piętnastym wyścigu zwyciężył Zmarzlik, ale Pawlicki przyjechał przed Woryną. Wynik 46:44 zapewnił Unii meczowe zwycięstwo nad wicemistrzem Polski.
